My parents first felt like they would be replaced by my birth family when I was getting really close to them and learning all these new things. My parents could never be replaced though. I sat alone thinking about everything, knowing my parents were the ones who took me to the hospital when I was sick, who raised me, who made me into they young woman I am today. I couldn't forget them, someday they will not be here but I will love them until that day comes. The saddest thing my mom ever said to me though was "Bree one day I will not be around, and your birth mom Jennifer is a lot younger then me, I'm just hoping she will take care of you, since I won't be able to," only a true mom would say something like that. Its when the people you love say things like that you face harsh realizations with life.
The dealing with gain, love, and then loss.
Bree, this is an important post to your overall "story." We need more details. What new "things" were you learning? How did you reconnect with your birth family? Even if you're going to focus on these details in other posts, you need to give the reader some context. Avoid generalizing. It makes your story seem less personal.
ReplyDelete(The comment from your mother is selfless. Amazing.)
